Patricia Spears Moore

Patricia “Pat” Spears Moore entered into eternal rest on Friday, August 19, 2022 at the age of 65. Pat was born on November 22, 1956 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Gloria Dean Williams Spears and the late Rev. Edward Spears. She is a graduate of the Class of 1974 from Booker T. Washington High School, where she was a cheerleader and Student Council President. Pat received her B.S. from Dillard University and a master degree from Clark Atlanta University. Pat began her employment in May 2014 with the Department of Children and Family Services where she worked as a Child Welfare Specialist in Foster Care and transferred to Home Development Unit in 2017 and was currently serving as a Child Welfare Specialist. Pat loved working with children and working to place them in good homes. Pat loved to shop, travel, and spend time hanging out with her close friends especially constant rode dog, her BFF, her mom, Ms. Gloria her number 1 sidekick. Pat is survived by her loving son Morris A. Moore, Jr.(Felicia), her devoted mother Gloria Spears Dunbar, her brothers Ed (Eileen) and Ike; her sister Glenda; nephews Edward Jr. (Suzette), Martin (Jae), Diallo, and Omari; nieces Erica, Erin, and Kyra. She is preceded in death by her son, Christian A. Moore, her brothers Timothy L. Spears (Rhonda) and Nathan E. Spears (Gloria). Relatives and friends of the family, as well as alumni of Booker T. Washington High School, Department of Children and Family Services, are invited to attend a Celebration of Life Service at St. John Baptist Church 8540 Panola St. , New Orleans, LA 70118 on Friday, August 26, 2022 at 10:00 am. Rev. Donald Boutte, Pastor officiating. Visitation will begin at 8 am.
