Norma Perry

Our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Norma Borne Perry, peacefully entered heaven’s gates on Sunday, January 30,2022 at the age of 92. Norma was born in Edgard, Louisiana on December 12,1929 to the late Joseph and Vivian Bossier Borne. Norma relocated to New Orleans, Louisiana where she married her husband, the late Richard C. Perry, Sr. Together, they had six children, the late Reverend Richard C. Perry, Jr., Andrea Perry, and Darin Perry, Sr. and three surviving children, David Perry, Sr. (Dwan) Deneen Garcia (Jose) and Kim Perry (Darrin). Stepchildren, Lawrence Perry (Pamela) and the late Melba Lois Perry. For more than 50 years, Norma worked in Domestic Service for the Elaine Gelpi Merrick Family ( Robert Merrick, Patricia Brinson and Susie Merrick), who she cherished as her extended family. She was a devoted family matriarch, supportive grandmother, and homemaker who was a remarkable cook who enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends, most especially over the holidays. She was known to have a kind heart and empathetic spirit. She faithfully prayed the rosary and always offered a prayer for those in need. Norma was also predeceased by her siblings, Augustine Borne Bolden; Deanna Borne Fleming; Mary Borne Shepherd, Agnes Borne Champagne, Lottie Ann Borne Wilson and Joseph Barnes and her granddaughter Rikki T. Parker. She will be fondly remembered by her surviving siblings Adrienne Borne of Harvey, Louisiana; Madeline Lumar of Edgard; Louisiana; Rosanna Borne of Hahnville, Louisiana and Lucille Borne Brice of Jamaica Queens, New York. She will also be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Zakenya Perry Neely (Edward), Ashton Perry, Javier Perry, David Perry, Jr., Dana Perry, Michael Dunware, Ty Adams, Jr. (Rachel), Gabrielle Garcia, Darin Perry, Jr., Ariana Joseph and Kalin Polk. Great-grandchildren, Michael and Zyrian Davis, Madison Beamon, Carly Anderson, Jalynn and Javi Perry, Mason Lewis, Ty Adams, III and Kayla and Kaitlyn Parker. Great-great grandchildren, Caiden and Messiah Davis and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends whom she adored. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial, Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, 4230 South Broad Street, New Orleans, LA 70125. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am followed by a funeral mass at 10:00am. Interment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 4000 Norman Mayer Avenue, New Orleans, Louisiana. Arrangements by D.W.
