Margaret Narcisse Laurant

Margaret Narcisse Laurant “LaLa” was born in Bonfouca, Louisiana on May 18, 1926, to the late John and Elmonia Vignaul Narcisse. Margaret passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, March 24, 2019 at the golden age of 92. Margaret was married to the love of her life, the late Norvell M. Laurant. She was mother to the late Norvell M. Laurant, Jr., and Cyril J. Laurant. Her surviving children are Floyd (Leith) Laurant, Daniel (Gwendolyn) Laurant, Reginald Laurant, Margaret Laurant, Jr., Johanna Laurant; and Antoine Z. Laurant a brother-in-law whom she and Norvell help to raise at an early age. Margaret was the grandmother of Alphonse Landor, III, Natashia Laurant Brown, Cherie Briscoe, Charone Briscoe, Rebekah Laurant, Hope Laurant, Danielle Laurant, Noah Braxton and, Faith Laurant. Great grandchildren Brianna, Terin, Savannah, Matthew, Mason, Andrew, Anthony, Kennedi, Laurent Sabastian and Sidon. Margaret was preceded in death by her siblings, Ethel Narcisse, John Narcisse, Jr., Evelina Narcisse, Edwina Doucette, Michael “Mitch” Narcisse, Agnes Sorina, Richard Narcisse, Raymond Narcisse and Dorothy Troullier. She is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, many friends and extended family (Pichon, Narcisse, Vignaul and Laurant). Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 3924 Berkley Street, Slidell, Louisiana 70458, on Friday April 12, 2019 at 11:00 am, officiated by Very Rev. Wayne Paysee. Viewing at 9:30 am; Rosary at 10:30 am;, Interment immediately following at DuBuisson Cemetery, 34562 West DuBuisson Rd., Slidell, Louisiana.
