Malcolm Hay

Malcolm Hay was a husband and father who enjoyed the company of his family and friends. He Left his footprints on the hearts of everyone he met, he made everyone feel special. He was affectionately known as, “Mac, the bread” man by many of his friends and family. He was born April 2, 1972 in Bastrop, LA and spent his youth in California. He later returned to Louisiana and received his High School Diploma from Slidell High School in Slidell, LA. After meeting his wife and soul mate, Sarah Hay, he relocated to Baton Rouge, LA to pursue his career as an independent distributor. Malcolm was a true example of pursuing the American dream. He set goals in his life and worked very hard to obtain them with the help of his wife, Sarah. He was influenced by many men in his life, their advice, guidance and counsel helped him to be the man he was. However, it was not only the words the men spoke to encourage him, it was also the drive and determination that Malcolm had within him. He leaves his wife and best friend, Sarah Hay, to cherish his memories, his daughter, Kerstin Hay, a son Dwight Dedeaux, Jr. (Ashley) and 2 grandsons, Jordan and Zion Dedeaux. He also leaves his father, Nathan Winston, of Slidell, LA, his mother, Lucy Hay-Miller, of Rialto, CA and “Bonus Mom”, Juliette Winston, of Slidell, LA. He loved both his mom dearly, when they were in the same room Malcolm would call out mom and they both would answer. He was also loved dearly by his Step-Father Robert “Bobby” Miller of Rialto, CA. His brothers, Andrew Winston (Aileen), of Slidell, LA, Carlos Hay of Pomoma, CA and Willie Davis (Nancy) of Baton Rouge, LA and Mother-in-law, Stella Degree of Pass Christian, MS and father-in-law John B. McKay, Sr. will sadly miss him. Malcom was preceded in death by his brother, George Roman Hay, Paternal Grandparents, James and Clora Winston, Maternal Grandparents, James Denson Hay and Lucy Watt Hay. Malcolm Hay departed this life at the age of 42 on June 6, 2014 doing what he loves most of all, delivering bread to local stores. Co-workers of Bimbo Bakery, Walmart Stores of the Greater Baton Rouge Area, all Baton Rouge, LA and Slidell, LA area Vendors and Distributors, Walmart of Rialto, CA, Louisiana Heart Hospital of Lacombe, LA, Baton Rouge Cheer Stars and South Baton Rouge Jaguars Track and Field are all invited to attend the services alone with family and friends on June 14, 2014 at 11am, visitation 9am-11am at The Star of Bethlehem Baptist Church 6274 Scenic Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA 70805.
