Mae Ella Browder

Mae Ella Browder, daughter of the late Sidney Scott and Sarah Browder was born June 24, 1952 in Woodville, Mississippi. She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in New Orleans, LA in 1970. In the fall of 1997 she enrolled in Southern University of New Orleans, and in the spring of 2001 she graduated with her degree in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice. She would always say you are never too old to go back to school. At an early age she professed her faith in Jesus Christ. Ms. Browder was a member of First Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, Corinthian No. 2 Baptist Church, and First Free Mission Baptist Church where she sung in the choir. She had a love for Jesus and a zeal for the word of God. Her favorite color was purple. As a result of her caring spirit and outgoing personality, she was loved by many. She would do her best to keep in contact with as many of her friends and family on a consistent basis. Her influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her. She quietly departed this life Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at Northside Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her father, Sidney Scott, mother, Sarah Browder, brothers, Emmanuel Bethley, James Earls, Earnest Scott Sr., Sidney Scott Jr., and James Scott; sisters Annie Mae S. Ephion, Louberta Bethley, Annie Bell Young, Veolor S. Ross, Audrey Pointedexter, and Doris Ann Scott and paternal and maternal grandparents. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children: Willie Scott of Yazoo City, MS; Cleveland Browder (Ronnekia) of Houston, TX; Reaver Cunningham (Lester) of Loganville, GA, fourteen grandchildren, one great grandchild; brothers Feltus Scott and Elton Scott of Las Vegas, NV, Herman Scott of Natchez, MS, Charles Browder of Wichita, KS, Eddie Lee Credit and Milton Scott of Baker, LA, S.L. Scott of Sacramento, CA, Emeal Scott of Donaldsonville, LA, Edward Scott, Emmitt Scott, and Russell Scott of Baton Rouge, LA, sisters, Della Scott and Mildred Griffin of New Orleans LA, Lola S. Byrd and Lillian S. Hartford of Baton Rouge, LA, Deloris S. Franklin and Millie S. Bell of Baker, LA, Gayle Scott of Houston, TX, Pinkie S. Jarreau of Ventress, LA, and Marlene Scott, and a host of devoted aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Due to the Government Social Distancing Guidelines, the family prepares for a private service, however a public visitation will be held on Friday, October 23, 2020 from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 PM at D.W. Rhodes Funeral Home, 3933 Washington Ave. followed by a private funeral service. MASKS are required to enter the funeral home. Interment: Providence Cemetery. Arrangements by D.W.
