Lynwell James "Duck" Wilson

Lynwell James “Duck” Wilson entered into eternal rest on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at Memorial Health System Hospital, in Gulfport, MS at 64 years of age. Lynwell was born April 12, 1958 to Peter James Wilson and Orestine Bailey Wilson. He was a devoted husband to the late Pastal Bryant Wilson for 19 years. Lynwell was a native of Jesuit Bend, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Lynwell was baptized at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Belle Chasse, LA and became a member of Greater St. Stephen Full Gospel Baptist Church in New Orleans, LA in his later years of life. He attended Belle Chasse High School and earned his CDL license at an early age. Duck began his working career employed by his father and later transitioned to owning his own truck and company, “Wilson Trucking”. He retired and started working part time at Leon Duplessis and Sons and was also a proud Auxiliary Deputy for the Plaquemine Parish Sheriff Office. He is preceded in death by his wife Pastel Bryant Wilson. His parents Peter J. Wilson Sr. and Orestine Bailey Wilson; His mother and father-in-law, Henry and Ruth Bryant. His niece, Keira Brown Fletcher; nephew, Jordan Wilson and close cousins. His parental and maternal grandparents, aunts and uncles. Lynwell leaves to cherish his memories his loving daughters, Jatara L. Wilson, Jaleesa Wilson Crumedy (Anthony), and Stepdaughter, Angél Parker. His grandchildren, Ahijah Ether and Serenity Johnson. His siblings, Peter Wilson Jr., Melvin Wilson (Davetta) and Carolyn McMahon (Bill). His godparents, Clarence Wilson and Anges Avist. He’s also survived by a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. We are extending an invitation to the relatives and friends also pastors, officers and members of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Greater St. Stephen Full Gospel Baptist Church, neighboring churches, also employees of Leon Duplessis and Sons, Plaquemines Parish Sheriff Office, TEI, Dynasty, Wilson Trucking, Sleep Number, Inspire Nola Charter School, N.O.V Inc, Houston, TX, Coast Concrete, Gulfport, MS, Conroe Independent School District, Conroe, TX, and Calpine Corp., Houston, TX, to attend her Visitation at D.W. Rhodes Funeral Home, 1020 Virgil Street on Thursday, March 16, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, March 17, 2023 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church at 8968 LA 23, Belle Chasse, LA 70037 at 12:00 pm. Father Kyle Dave, Celebrant.
