Louise Parker

The Life, Love and Legacy of Louise J. Parker Ms. Louise Jane Parker departed this life peacefully into eternal rest on Sunday, December 10, 2023 at the age of 83. She was born on June 27, 1940 and was raised and resided in New Orleans, Louisiana. She was preceded in death by her father Henry Parker Sr., and mother Leola Cox Parker. She was one of ten children. Louise received Jesus Christ as her Personal Savior at First St. James Baptist Church in New Orleans, LA where she was a member of the choir, loved her church family, and served for many years until Hurricane Katrina. In 2009, she joined Franklin Avenue Baptist Church, where her love for the church family continued. She enjoyed attending Sunday School and listening to the FABC Dynamic Male Chorus. Louise attended Booker T. Washington High School; however, it was her love of cooking mastered by her mother that was truly appreciated by her immediate and extended family, friends, and neighbors. Family and friends could always get a home-cooked meal and some of her famously delicious cakes and pies along with lots of laughter. Louise continued her love of caregiving and dedicated her time and energy to her true loves, her “babies”, Pierce and Dylan. She loved being a devoted grandmother to her boys and mother to her children. It will forever remain her greatest honor to take care of everyone in her family and all those loved by her near and far. Louise is preceded in death by her parents. Siblings: Rosemary Lieteau, Alvin, Felton, Claude, Johnny, Cora Parker and Benjamin Singelton. Louise, affectionately known as (Grammy and Weezy) leaves to cherish her memories her devoted children, Suzette, Trina, and Damien (Nyketa). Her beloved grandchildren Pierce and Dylan. One sister Emma P. Wilder, one brother William “Bill” Lane (Debra). One Aunt Earline “Auntie” Cox. Two Godchildren, D’Ondra Steward-Rhone (Glenn) and Tryan Steward (Tamanika). Two sister-in-laws Edna and Yvonne Parker. Also cherishing her memory is a host of loving nieces and nephews along with other family and friends. "The love of a family is a life greatest blessing.”
