Louis White

Louis White was the son of the late Jimmie White Sr. and Alberta Doptimore White. At an early age, he accepted the Lord as his personal savior, He was baptized by the late Rev Joseph Howard at Second Salvation Baptist Church. He served enlisted U.S ARMY June 21, 1956. He united in marriage to the late Doretha Ard White . To this union three daughters were born, Dorene White Van buuren. Christine White Coleman and Racheal Ann White. Brother White was a devoted Christian who served as a member of the Senior Choir and often sang many solo’s when called upon, His favorite song was “ This old building keeps on leaning. I have to find a better home”. He was caring and loving and very protective of his daughters. His favorite hobbies were fishing, hunting, golf “Tiger Woods” , playing and beating many at pool, racing cars and challenging many on the river road. Our father had a very competitive spirit . He didn’t want anyone to beat him at anything. He taught many in the neighborhood how to fix cars as of this day, but not to give up all his secrets so their cars weren't as fast as his, but his heart was riding our brother Flicker. I remember the joy of seeing him ride in the horse shows, parades and to show off the hard work of teaching his girls how to show our talents of winning first place in most events. Flicker used to try to act up when he didn’t see Daddy and we would tell him we were going to call Daddy or act like we were calling him and Buddy which my daddy called him would get straight up quick! He really enjoyed his moments under the family tree in Bridge City. A moment to think about his family and a change to see his friends and their conversations. He would get so mad when we didn’t go, pouting like a child. LOL After a long and relentless fight to overcome multiple ailments at the age of 88 on April 20. 2026 at 1:30 am Monday morning my father held my hand and went home for a very special moment!! He joins heaven with his entire family of Mother and Father, his 5 sisters, Aunt Annie, Geneva, Ida, Carrie and Catherine. 6 brothers, Uncle Jimmie Jr, Willie, Romalice Sr. Dan, Robert and Charles White. I can only imagine what a joyous reunion it was. He leaves to mourn his 3 daughters Dorene, Christine, Racheal. His son in law Solomon Coleman. His grandchildren are the late Duran White. Durrell White, Taneisha, LaToya, Dasia Isreal, Rayshard, Rayshonda, Rayneisha White. Great children, Zoe, Zuri Holmes. MalachI, Zaccai Isreal. His great son in law Malachi Isreal. Great great children, Car’Zariah, Christopher, the late Riley and Keenan, Davinci Duran, Rayshard Louis Jr Bronze, Royalty. Alizah White. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend aa Funeral Service at D.W. Rhodes Funeral Home, 1020 Virgil St. Gretna, La 70053 on Friday May 8, 2026 at 11:00 pm. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am. Interment: Restlawn Park Cemetery.
