Louis LV Conerly Sr.

After a long battle with cancer, on March 27, 2021 Louis “LV” Conerly Senior made his heavenly transition and gained his wings at 90 years of age. Psalm 37:23, “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delights in his way” is one of the scriptures that best describes the life of Louis “LV” Conerly Senior. He was born to the blessed union of the late Jessie and Beatrice Conerly on September 4, 1930 in Tyler Town, Mississippi. He was one of 12 siblings, he is survived by four: Jessie Lee Conerly Walker, Ezell Conerly, Ado Conerly and Theodore Conerly. He is preceded in death by JD Conerly, Myrtis C Pittman, Lonnie Conerly, Ethel C Walker, Willie B Conerly, Claude Conerly and Audrey C McKinney. Louis Conerly Senior was a life- long resident of New Orleans, LA. He is survived by his beloved and devoted wife Viola Jones Conerly. From this union they produced seven children. He was the loving father to six surviving children: Gail Conerly, Jimmy Conerly, Maylois C Bacot, Cathy C Smith, Carolyn C Coleman. He is preceded in death by Beverly C Baynard, and Louis Conerly Junior. Affectionately known as Paw Paw, he is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews’ other relatives and friends. Louis Conerly Senior was known for his quick wit, wise advice, and hard work. He modeled what it meant to take care of his family, he was an honorable man and believed in catching, growing, and cooking his own food. He loved sports and he loved discussing current events. Even at 90 years old he exercised his right to vote, and he believed and preached that to change conditions in society we are required to speak up, live with integrity and go after our goals. He leaves behind a legacy of pride, determination, and unconditional love. He will be laid to rest in a private graveside service at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery 223 St Paul Road Tyler, Town Mississippi 39667 on April 3, 2021 at 1:00pm.
