Karl Gene Boyd

Karl Gene Boyd entered eternal rest on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at the age of 16. He was born on September 22, 2004 in New Orleans, LA, preceded in death by his mother, Karla J. Boyd and Survived by Joycelyn Boyd (Mom), Mack Boyd (Dad), and Olivia Boyd (Great Grandmother). Karl is also survived by Consuela Taylor (Godmother), Alvin Boyd (Godfather/Uncle (Dionne), Sheila B. Lea, Lisa B. Sholeye, Cynthia D. Mondy, Yvonne M. Delahoussaye, Evangeline V. Boyd (Walter, Sr.), Kimberly B. Boyd (Keith Sr.), Great Aunts/Uncles, Andrienell L. Boyd, Meswand B. Tobias (Ricky), Terilaine M. Boyd, Janet Anthony (Roland), Stephen Makayi, Larry Smith, Ewell Parquet, Sr., James Payne, Tilton R. Hunter, Sr., Aunts/Uncles, and a host of cousins, family, and friends who all loved him. Karl attended Westbank Cathedral Preschool, Marrero Academy for Advanced Studies, Ruppel Academy for Advanced Studies, and Thomas Jefferson Academy for Advanced Studies. He was a member of the Boy Scouts, Thomas Jefferson Academy Jaguar Swim Team, Terrytown Country Club Swim Team, Thomas Jefferson Academy Wrestling Team and Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC). Relatives and friends of the family, students of Thomas Jefferson High School; employees of Halliburton Services, Hancock Whitney Bank, and U.S. Postal Service; Priest and Parishioners of St. Joseph The Worker Church are invited to attend A Celebration of Life Service held at All Saints Catholic Church, 1441 Teche Street, New Orleans, LA 70114, by Father Peter Weiss, SSJ on Wednesday, June 9, 2021. Visitation begins at 8:30 a.m., Rosary starts at 9:00 a.m., and Tributes are from 9:30 a.m. – 9:55 a.m. with a maximum time of 2 minutes per person to speak. The Funeral Mass will follow immediately after tributes at 10:00 a.m. Interment: Restlawn Cemetery, 3540 Highway 90 West, Avondale, LA.
