Henry Russell

On October 9, 2022 Henry Russell at the age of 86, went home to be with his heavenly father. Henry Russell was a native of Woodville, Mississippi. He was born to the late Eva and Benny Russell Sr. Henry was educated in the Belmont School system. At the age of 17 yrs. old Henry became a New Orleans native. Not long after, he began his career as a Louisiana International Longshoreman where he dedicated 42 yrs. of service. Henry Russell who we know as our daddy, brother, grandfather, and friend was a God sent. He would do anything to help those he loved. He loved each and everyone of us especially his beloved wife Betty Russell who has preceded him in death. Our father had a love for all his siblings equally, he leaves behind seven brothers Leroy Russell, Calvin Russell, Carter Russell, Leonard Russell, John Russell, Lawrence Russell, and Richard Russell, and three sister Leola King, Edna Russell, and Katherine Russell. He had a special place in his heart for his younger sister Katherine Russell, for he would say to us take care of my sister Kat (her nickname). Henry Russell leaves behind his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and a host family and friends. He leaves to cherish loving memories to his children Stanley Keith Russell Sr., Ronald Russell, Gregory Russell, Deborah Ann Foster -Husband (Kevin Foster), Andrie Cincotta Sutton- Husband (Augusta Howard Sutton Jr.). His grandchildren, Bri’and Marie Russell, Dorion A. Russell, Stanley Kieth Russell II, Ram’on VaShon Russell, Augusta Howard Sutton III, A’Driane Elise Russell, Faith Elizabeth Foster and Quinn Ethan Sutton- Wife (Taylor Ratcliff Sutton). His great grandchildren, Zion Ashley Aples, Jordan U. Russell, Preceded him in death (Za’ryha Joy Aples), Zoe Russell, Zakai Prince Aples and Sagan Moon. In life we loved him dearly. In death we love him still. In our hearts he’ll hold a place no one else could ever fill. His favorite prayer is the …OUR FATHER PRAYER Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Funeral Service at Second Zion Baptist Church, 6520 Second Zion Blvd. on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at 11:00 am.
