Harold Paul Luke, Jr. New Orleans, LA December 3, 1937 – November 9, 2024 Harold Paul Luke Jr., a lifelong resident of New Orleans, Louisiana peacefully passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2024, in the comfort of his home. He was the second child born to the union of the late Susie Allain Luke and Harold P. Luke, Sr. in New Orleans, LA on December 3, 1937. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Linda Johnson Luke and his brother Andre Luke, Sr (Aquanetta). Harold is survived by his children Vervian Luke Watson (Edwin), Harold P. Luke III (Trenell), Jude A. Luke (Ann), David M. Luke (Valencia), and Maria A. Luke. He was affectionally known as Pop, Pops, and Poppa to his grandchildren: Harold G. Jackson II, Damian A. Simmons (Kareema), Patrick M. Jackson (Iris), Victoria F. Watson, Jasmyn Luke, Jade L. Stafford, (Jordan), David M. Luke, Jr., Sydnie A. Jones, Jude A. Luke II, William L. Jones III, Hannah Luke, and Hunter Luke. Harold enjoyed spending time with his three great-grandchildren: Damian A. Simmons, Jr., Dillard Simmons, and Aurelia T. Jackson. He is survived by his siblings: Leo Luke Sr. (Theresa), Wendell Luke Sr. (Artilyn), Phillip Luke (Betty), and Ann Marie L. Lawless (Carlton Sr.); in-laws: Winifred, Arlene, Kevin, and William Johnson, Karen Johnson-Hall, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Harold graduated from Xavier University Preparatory School (class of 1957) and Dillard University (class of 1961). Upon graduating from Dillard University, he worked for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and retired from Avondale Shipyard (Northrop Grumman) as a computer systems analyst. Harold enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, maintaining the family tree, hosting crawfish boils, cooking, watching Saints and LSU football games, and riding on the family Mardi Gras float, the Annunciation Street Dreamers. His final years were spent at home joined by family and friends. Relatives, friends, and employees of Compassus Hospice, Home Bank NA, Ochsner Health, St. Therese Academy, and UPS are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Corpus Christi – Epiphany Catholic Church at 2022 St. Bernard Ave., New Orleans, LA 70116. Visitation will begin at 8:00 a.m. Rosary will start at 9:15 a.m. Father Henry Davis will officiate. Internment St. Vincent De Paul Soniat #2. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
