Harlean Banks

Harlean Butler Banks was born to the union of the late Alfred Butler Sr. and Elouise Henry Butler Tate on December 21, 1938 in New Orleans, Louisiana. She departed this life on Friday, January 15, 2021 at University Medical Center. Harlean was baptized, confirmed and married at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in New Orleans, Louisiana. She was a graduate of Jack Yates High School (Houston TX) and Charity School of Nursing. She started her career as an LPN with Charity Hospital and furthered her career with the City of New Orleans Health Department until retirement. She was a Eucharistic Minister who dedicated herself to her rosary group, the Ladies Auxiliary Court 22, and delivering food baskets to those in need. Harlean joined her sister Alfreda Butler Norflin, brothers Alfred Butler Jr, Larry Butler, also Aunts, Jamesetta Hope Henry, Louise Jenkins Thomas, Uncles Rudolph Bill Henry, Andrew Henry and other relatives and friends. She leaves to celebrate her life: daughters: Troy Lynne Reimonenq, Tammie Banks Warren, Tresa Banks-Lewis (Kevin). Grandsons: Kevin Washington Jr. (Ingrid), Roy Reimonenq Jr. (Domonique), Ryan Reimonenq, Kevin Lewis Jr., Kristopher Warren, Kyle Lewis and Kendall Lewis; 9 Great-Grandchildren; sister, Barbara Butler Scott, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, priest and parishioners of Blessed Sacrament St. Joan of Arc Church, also Richard’s Disposal, Orleans District Attorney-Child Support Enforcement, University of New Orleans, University Medical Center (UMC) MICU (Pulmonary) and 6th Floor are invited to attend a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at Blessed Sacrament St. Joan of Arc, 8321 Burthe Street New Orleans, LA 70118 on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 10:00am. Join us by livestream https://www.bssjaparish.com. Visitation will start at 8:00 am to 9:45 am. As mandated by the State of Louisiana due to the COVID-19 pandemic, attendance is limited. Everyone is required to adhere to all restrictions. You must wear a face mask at all times and practice social distancing. Interment: Carrollton Cemetery (Green Street Cemetery). Arrangement by D.W.
