Gladis Mae Miller

With heavy hearts, yet in gratitude for a well lived life, we share the passing of Gladis Mae Miller, a cherished mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, cousin, and friend. On March 25, 2025, at the age of 78, Gladis peacefully transitioned from this life, embracing her heavenly journey and resting in the loving arms of our Heavenly Father. Gladis Mae Miller was born in New Orleans, LA, to the late Herman W. Sr. and Julia Mae Tyler. Her life was a beautiful reflection of love, laughter, and generosity. She touched the hearts of those around her with warmth and kindness, creating precious memories that will be forever cherished. A woman of boundless compassion, she dedicated herself to others, leaving an enduring impact on countless lives. Gladis was preceded in death by her parents, Herman W. Sr. and Julia Mae Tyler; grandparents, Lorenzo and Lucinda Tyler and Joseph and Luvinia Pierre Singleton; brother, Herman Tyler Jr (Dianne).; children, Adrian Miller and Kevin Tyler; and grandchildren, Marvin Jackson and Bertrand Dezara III. She leaves behind a family who will forever cherish her memory: her three children, Jack Jr., Michael (Sharon), and Sonia Miller; her beloved grandchildren, April Glenn, Michael and Maurice Jackson, Kendra and Ayanna Neville, Daniela Clements (Robin), Breione (Darius) Encalade-Gatson, and Kaia Dezara; and her treasured great-grandchildren, Michael Marshall, Michelle, Kimani, and Maliyah Jackson, Jeremy Tolliver Jr., Robyn Clements, Kyleigh Gatson, Azure and Amare Mack, and Seven Funchess. She is also deeply missed by her loving siblings, Janice (Claude, III) Bean, Melvin and Linda Tyler, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and lifelong friends, all of whom were touched by her kindness, love, and unwavering support. Relatives, friends, and colleagues of the Regional Transit Authority (RTA), Bienville Basin HRI, Positive Care, United Postal Services, as well as former employees of Charity Hospital and Claude Bean Auto and Body Shop, are invited to honor the life of Gladis Mae Miller. Members of Franklin Avenue Baptist Church, St. Luke AME Church, Beulah Baptist Church, and First Zion Church are also welcomed to attend her homegoing celebration on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Franklin Avenue Baptist Church, 8282 I-10 Service Rd., New Orleans, LA 70126, at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. (Please note: The casket will not be reopened for final viewing.)
