Emmett Robinson

Emmett Charles Robinson was born on February 16,1932 to his loving parents, Emmett and Carmella Robinson, of Abbeville, LA. After a brief period of illness, Emmett Robinson passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 14, 2024. Emmett, at the age of 21, joined in holy matrimony with Emma Frances Boykin Robinson. They were blessed with six children, five daughters and one son. He lived a quiet life, was particular about being very neat, and having things in order. As a young adult, Emmett served our country in the Army branch of the military and continued to live a disciplined life from then on. He enjoyed the outdoors including vegetable gardening, fishing, and rabbit hunting with friends. He enjoyed different sports, especially football. Emmett was kind to his neighbors and everyone he met. He loved Jesus, eating good food, and was a good father to his children. Emmett was a long-distance truck driver for many years and could easily tell us how long it would take to drive to any place in the USA. When asked to travel, he often replied with a teasing smile and would say “I’ve been there already, and I don’t need to go back.” When no longer physically able to attend church, Emmett enjoyed participating in church services he viewed on television. His son, Emmett Wayne, often joined him on Sundays and together they enjoyed church services, great food, and football. In earlier years, he served as a church deacon and was an example to others of one who would bend his knees in prayer. Preceding Emmett in death were his parents Emmett and Carmella Robinson, his wife of thirty-five years Emma Boykin Robinson, his four brothers Adam, Marion, Aaron, and Cleveland Robinson, several sisters- in-law, including his wife’s sister Doris B. Gills (Russell). Emmett leaves to mourn his six children: Aurelia Robinson Celestine, Gwendolyn Robinson, Emmett Wayne Robinson, Yvette Robinson Daniels (Sebyron Sr.), Marilyn Robinson Bourgeois (Adrian), Joycelyn Robinson Branch (DeChris); grandchildren, Emmett C. W. Robinson, Angelle J. Davis (Terrell), Chastity D. Mason (Alvin), GayNia Williams DeGraw (Lucas), Jessica Swan Brown (Lynwood), Sebyron Daniels Jr., Jaslyn G. Brown (Sean Sr.); Sebastian Daniels, Sr. (Laureal), Nikki Williams, Joseph Givens III, Autumn James, Richard Robinson (Brittany), Eric Robinson (Erin), Denim Branch; great grandchildren, Emiya Robinson, Aceley Davis, Azriel Davis, Andreas Davis, Adoniah Davis, Ty’Rian Foster-Daniels, Tavion Tucker, Cruze DeGraw, Goldie DeGraw, Kandance Brown, Jordan Brown, Seth Brown, S’Naya Daniels, Sebyron Daniels III, Sean Brown Jr., Jayde Brown, Alayzia Cola, Sebastian Daniels Jr., King Daniels, Kyra Williams, Alaiyah Walker, Kaiden Walker, Darrius Robinson, Darmarius Robinson, Dream Robinson, Destini Robinson, Richard Robinson Jr., Imani Robinson, Elijah Robinson, Kayla Robinson, Paris Robinson, Eric Robinson Jr., Erica Robinson, Aliyah Robinson, JaCorie Casborn Jr. and a host of friends including Roland Jeffery, Alton Pounds, Emile August who were close friends for more than 50 years. Emmett also leaves to mourn a host of other friends and relatives. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Funeral Service at D. W.
