Claudia Marie Rodgers Hudson

Claudia Marie Rodgers Hudson was born on September 24,1948 in Foxworth, Mississippi to the late Ona Pearl Rodgers and Beamon Odell Rodgers. On Saturday, September 6, 2025 Claudia departed this earthly life at the age of 76. She was a resident of New Orleans, Louisiana. She was proceeded in death by her parents Ona Pearl Rodgers and Beamon Odell Rodgers, and her sister, Pamela Rodgers. She leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted husband of 56 years - Clarence Hudson, son Eric Hudson Sr. (Catina Ruffin), daughters Kalisha Bennett (Lamont), Kimali Hudson, her beloved grandchildren Imari Ruffin, Eric Hudson Jr., Lamont Bennett Jr., Layla Bennett, and Hayden Hudson, her godchildren Monica Ricks, Jeoffre Duplessis and Ambria McNair and her grandpups, Whiskey and Max. She is survived by her siblings Annie Mixon (John), Brenda Barnes, Donise Gladden, Elijah “Jack” Rodgers, Satchel Rodgers (Margaret), Paulette Duplessis, Jessie Rodgers (Ora), Lisa McNair (Julius), Kenneth Rodgers, and Vincent Rodgers (Dedra). Along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who will forever hold her in their hearts. Claudia was a proud graduate of Marion Central High School, Class of 1966. She spent many hours serving in different capacities at her church, Cornerstone United Methodist, where she was a member for over 25 years. She served on the Hospitality Ministry as the Chairperson, Trustee Board, Church Choir Praise Team & Women’s Choir, Staff-Pastor Parish Relationship Ministry, Care Team, Banner Ministry and Silverstones’ Senior Adult Ministry. Claudia was a member of Ebony Women and Classic Ladies social clubs. Over the years Claudia worked at Godchaux Department store, the U.S. Naval Base, Saint Mary of The Angels Before & Aftercare, and Kiddie Care Daycare. Her love for children and helping others led her to open her own Daycare, which she had for a number of years. Funeral services celebrating Claudia’s life will be held at Cornerstone United Methodist Church at 5676 Bullard Ave, New Orleans, La 70128 on Saturday, September 13, 2025. Visitation and viewing will begin at 9:00am. Celebration of Life will begin at 10:00am. Reverend Clifton Conrad will be officiating. Revered E. Andrew Goff will perform the eulogy.
