Christy Francis

Christy Perry Francis went home to Glory on Thursday, October 9, 2014 from Ochsner Hospital after a nearly 3 year battle with leukemia at 61 years old. Upon departure she was surrounded by her adoring husband, loving daughters, and other devoted family members. She arrived in heaven to meet her parents James & Gertrude Perry, son Theodore Jr., younger brother Larry, brother in law Samuel Francis, mother in law Leadora Tongue, and father in law Edmund T. Francis. Christy was a native of New Orleans and graduate of Walter L. Cohen High School. She furthered her studies at Jackson State University, but ultimately graduated from SUNO. She spent the majority of her adult life working as an Educational Consultant. Christy had an intimate relationship with God and knew Jesus as her Lord and Savior. Christy is mourned by her husband of 33 years, Theodore; their 3 daughters Hannah of Houston, TX, Rebecca of New Orleans, LA, and Sarah of Jackson, MS; Brothers Willie Perry & Samuel (Jeannette) Perry Sr., Sister Barbara (Joe) Cheatham, Brother Eddie (Carolyn) Chapman, Sister Linda (Ron) Lampton all residing in the New Orleans area. She is also mourned by Mother in law Doreen Francis of NYC; Brothers in law Eugene Francis of NYC, David Isaac of USVI, Eustace (Sandra) Francis Sr. of Philadelphia, PA; Sisters in law Hyacinth Francis of NYC, Cavella Francis of St. Croix, Aloma Gordon of Antigua, and Linda Perry of Bossier, LA; Nieces & Nephews: Courtney, Jessica, Sam Jr., James II, Joseph, Elijah, Vicky, Christopher, Chantal, Crystal, Annette, Joaquin, Jahoia, Akeem, Kaye, Shoya, Randy, Kevin, Denver, Eustace Jr., Elijah Jr., Wyatt, Isaiah, Desmond, Candice, and a host of other aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, Ochsner Oncology Employees, also Pastors, Officers, and members of Second Baptist (6th District), Prayer Tower COGIC, Mount Carmel MBC, New Home-East, North End COGIC (Jackson, MS), Orange Grove COGIC (Kentwood, LA) and Greater Little Rock Baptist Church are invited to attend the funeral service at Macedonia COGIC 3015 Louisa St. on Saturday October 18, 2014 at 11:00AM.
