Charles Favaroth Sr.

Charles Favaroth Sr. was born on April 24, 1937, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to the union of the late Gustave Favaroth and the late Leontine James Favaroth. He transitioned to his Heavenly home on Monday, April 10, 2023, at the age of 85. He was married to the love of his life, the late Lillie Mae Williams, for 46 years and the father of the late Charles Favaroth, Jr. He was educated in the Orleans Parish school system. He was employed in various jobs, including Louisiana Concrete, and retired after 20-plus years from Delta Petroleum Company, Inc. He was a member of King Solomon Baptist Church in the lower ninth ward, where his parents were founding members. He served as a dedicated deacon at King Solomon under the pastoral leadership of his Uncle, Reverend Solomon James, Reverend Willie Stewart, and Reverend George Guidry. Later, he became a member of Greater Evergreen Baptist Church, under the leadership of Reverend Terrance A. Ranson, Sr., where he served faithfully as an usher. He experienced joy being in the presence of his Church community and spending time with his family. “Trust in the Lord” was what he lived by because of his strong faith. He was resilient and vibrant. He leaves to cherish his memories his Devoted Brother Julius R. Favaroth, Sisters-in-Law Doris Williams, Mable Mack, Barbara (Alfred) Green, and Brothers-in-Law, Louis Williams and Clarence (Lois) Williams. He was the godfather of Leona Favaroth-Stampley and Rodney Joseph Henry, Sr. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Henry Favaroth Sr., August "Gus" Favaroth, Lawrence Favaroth, his sisters Louise Favaroth-Clark Chambers, and Frances Favaroth Dumas. He also leaves to cherish his memories a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Relatives, friends of the family, and employees of Delta Petroleum Company, Inc., also pastors, officers, and members of Greater Evergreen Baptist Church, King Solomon Baptist Church, Franklin Avenue Baptist Church, Mount Hermon Baptist Church, and all neighboring churches are invited to attend a Celebration of Life Service at Greater Evergreen Baptist Church, 2243 Clouet St., New Orleans, LA., 70117 on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at 10:00 am. Reverend Terrance A. Ranson Sr. is officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:00 am until service time. Internment: Mount Olivet Cemetery, New Orleans, LA. Arrangements by D. W.
