Terry Leroy Searls

Terry Leroy Searls was born July 29, 1975, in New Orleans La, to Lillian Linda Searls Baker and Edward Leon Smith and Aundra R. Smith. Terry received his educational foundation in Orleans and Jefferson Parish School System. He was employed at Acropolis Cuisine.He found his passion for cooking at a very early age. He honed his skills and became a gifted and talented very known Chef. He was an avid Saints fan. Everyone knew for his light-hearted playful demeanor. He confessed Jesus Christ as his Savior and baptized at Mt. Herman Baptist Church in Avondale by the late Rev. Eckard Johnson. Terry is survived by his sons, Terry Taiwan Searls, Tavian Armond Searls, Sincere Essence Searls and KaDajh TanDen Searls; his siblings, (Sisters) Jada Searls , Vada Searls -Willingham, Lisa Smith-Foster, Catina Smith, Dianca (Derrick) Smith-Wilson, Letrina (Joseph) Robinson-Tshiteya, Arkemi Robinson; (Brothers) Charles Smith, Lamonte (Glendalyn) Smith, Raymond (Darilyn) Smith, Leon Harris; 3 grandchildren and host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, friends, and coworkers. Terry’s first union was to Teneisha Smith – children Terry Taiwan Searls and Terrika Searls. Terry’s second union was to Era Terry Searls – Tavian Armond Searls and Sincere Essence Searls. Special Companion Latasia Williams – Ka’Dajh TaDen Searls. He was a proud and loving father to his children. He was full of life and always will help anyone in need. He was a hardworking man who took pride in providing for his family. Terry will always be remembered for his bright smile, cool calm demeanor, and pleasant personality. Godmother Creola Jacqueline Moon and Godfather Alfred Searls Jr, On Saturday, April 2, 2022, Terry succumbed to his battle with diabetes. He leaves to cherish his memories, his children, his mother and father sisters and brothers and host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, friends, and coworkers. Terry was preceded in death by his guardian parents the late Charlie and Helen Searls Smith and Creola Searls Moon. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Funeral Service at City of Love Church, 8601 Palmetto Street on Thursday, April 14, 2022 at 10:00 am. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am.
