Stanley Williams, age 78, departed this life on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at the New Orleans Veterans Administration Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer. A lifelong resident of New Orleans, he was born on October 30, 1943. He was the son of the late John Williams and Bessie Alma Bell Williams. He was preceded in death by his beloved siblings: Lillian Gilyot, Earl Williams, Yvonne Watley, Oliver Williams, Joseph Williams, and Lionel Williams; three sister-in- laws: Delores Williams, Geraldine Williams, and Lucille Williams; a niece, Roxanne Williams, nephews Cory Williams and Brian Williams. Stanley served in the United States Army during WWII and was employed by the United States Post Office in New Orleans for 25 years. Stanley is survived by his daughter, Pia Williams, his son Stanley Williams II, two granddaughters, Kelsey Raymond and Sienna Williams. Stanley is also survived by three siblings: Valerie Williams, John WilliamsII, Richard Williams; and two sisters-in-law, Beverly Williams and Gloria Williams. He also leaves to cherish his memory a host of dear nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Special and sincere thanks are extended to the doctors and staff of The Veterans Administration Hospital in New Orleans for their loving care and support of Stanley during his time of transitioning. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, February 4, 2022 at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 7300 Crowder Blvd., New Orleans, La. 70127. Visitation begins at 10:00 am followed by a Mass at 11:00 am. Due to Covid-19 all attendees are required to wear face masks.
