Shirley Mae Weaver Green

Shirley Mae Weaver-Green, 89, a resident of New Orleans Louisiana, quietly departed this life surrounded by her family on December 13, 2021. She was born August 27,1932 to the late Beatrice and Alexander Weaver. She was united in holy matrimony to the late August Green Jr. She attended Joseph S. Clark Senior High School. Shirley served as a dedicated lifelong member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. As a result of her generous spirit and pleasant personality, she was loved by many. She was known to bow down on her knees and pray every night, her commitment to the Lord was relentless. Her influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her. Her hobbies were playing bingo, puzzle books and sitting on her porch enjoying God’s good air. Survived by her children: Linda Norleen Hughes, August Green III and James Green; daughter-in-law, Regina Green; five grandchildren Roy Hughes Jr., Valerie Barthé, Brittany Elkins, August Green IV, and Jamielle Condor and one great grandchild: Rodai’ja Hughes and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousin’s family, and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; Beatrice and Alexander Weaver, husband: August Green Jr., brothers: Alexander, Mathew, Sterling, Elmo, Phillip, Earl, Lionel and Lloyd, sisters: Louise, Gloria, and Mildred Manchester. Visitation will be held Friday, December 17, 2021, from 9:00am-10:00am at Mount Moriah Baptist Church, 2407 Louisa St, New Orleans La. 70117, followed by the Homegoing Celebration Service for Mrs. Shirley Mae Weaver- Green at 10:00am.
