Sharon Joann Isidore McKendall Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Sharon Joann Isidore McKendall was born in New Orleans, LA on February 19, 1954. She was the beautiful daughter of the late Joel Calvin Isidore and Mary Magdalena Washington Isidore. After the death of her mother, she was reared by her paternal grandparents the late Cleveland “Donnie” and Edwina Isidore and her Paternal aunt the late Jewell Isidore-Dickerson. Sharon was a 1972 graduate of McDonough #35 High School. She subsequently graduated from Loyola University in 1976 obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology. Sharon was employed at Charity Hospital in New Orleans from 1976 through 2003. Sharon was employed by Quest Diagnostics in Houston, TX from 2005 until 2015. Sharon learned about and developed a love for Christ at an early age. She was baptized at the St. James Divine Temple #7 Church. As an adult, Sharon placed her membership at Gideon Christian Fellowship under the leadership of Pastor. Willie Wooten. In 2005, as a result of Hurricane Katrina, Sharon and her family became citizen of Fresno, Texas where she placed her membership at Ashford Community Church where Rev. John Parks served as her pastor. Sharon was a bubbly personality and was loved by so many. She had an infectious smile and always tried to be a spiritual compass for those whom she loved. Sharon loved serving as a Christian counselor at her church and enjoyed socializing with the other members of the Red Hatter’s Society. She derived pleasure gardening, reading, crafting, crocheting, but at the top of the list of things she enjoyed was being “Nana” to her two beautiful grandchildren Noah and Sydney. Sharon leaves to celebrate her memory her son, Ryan Armstrong and his wife Alicia and her daughter Farris McKendall-Breaux and husband Andre. Her two grandchildren. Sisters: Dianna Burrell Lee, and Artimise Isidore Turner Husband Fred. Brothers: Kenneth and Kevin Isidore. Aunt: Janice Isidore. Nieces: - Torri Burrell - Godchild (Perry) Demetrica Jones (Jeffery) Edrena Burrell (John) Destiny and Janai Turner. Nephews: Ronald Burrell Jr. (Shavoria) Daniel Isidore. She was preceded in death by her parents, her paternal grandparents, grandmother Margaret Jones, sisters: Jewell Isidore and Angela Isidore. Brother Rev. Larry Hood. She is survived by a host of cousins and many other extended family and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Funeral Service at D.W. Rhodes Funeral Home, 3933 Washington Avenue on Monday, December 13, 2021 at 10:00 am. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am. Everyone in attendance must wear a mask.
