Sandra Ann Washington “Red”, March 6, 1956 New Orleans, Louisiana – Sandra “Red” A. Washington, 68, of New Orleans, departed this life on March 27, 2024. Born on March 6,1956 in New Orleans, she proceeded in passing by her mother, Doris Mackey Waters; father, Isaiah Grant Jr.; brothers, Isaiah Grant III and Calvin C. Grant. Sandra attended Dunn H. Elementary and graduated from Lawless Jr/Sr. High. She worked as a supervisor for fourteen years. Ultimately, she decided to retire from her position and began tending to other interests. She was a one-of-a-kind woman who someone would call a jack of all trades. Sandra was a high-spirited woman who would take to gardening. When she wasn’t nursing a bud to a plant, she was ensuring she fed her family the best of her cuisines. Sandra was no stranger in the kitchen and her cooking will be eternally craved. Sandra’s jubilant spirit could enlighten any gathering. She would certainly dazzle everyone with her elegant attire. With these blessings, Sandra never forgot to devote her life and give thanks to The Most High God. No one is ever short in memories of Sandra, as she was an indescribable woman. There will never be quite a person as her. Sandra Washington leaves behind a legacy of strength and faith, touching the lives of all who knew her. She is survived by her husband, Clarence Washington; daughter, Chandrika S. Mixon (Charles) and Sheena L. Washington; grandchildren, Andrew D. Tircuit, Asia A. Tircuit, and Marlin Lawson Jr.; brothers, Nathaniel W., Terry A. (Bonnie), Broderick U. Grant along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who will miss her dearly. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Funeral Service at D.W.
