Sadie Mae Patterson

Sadie Mae Patterson “Sweet Sadie” also known as “Ola Mae”, age 70, was born on July 7, 1951. She passed away peacefully on her birthday, July 7, 2021 at her daughter’s home in Houma, LA surrounded by loved ones. She was born in Centreville, MS and lived in Kenner, LA for many years. Her parents were the “late” Edward “Man” Jones and Mary (Doty) Jones. Sadie was baptized at Nineveh Baptist Church in Metairie, LA by the “late” Pastor Wilker Neal at 8 years old. She was proceeded in death by her beloved husband, Alton Patterson Sr.,her son, Alton Patterson Jr., and her brother, Emanuel Jones. Sadie worked as a custodian at Riverdale High School and as a delivery driver for the Sonic International Courier Company for many years. She was also a self-employed taxi driver for nearly 20 years. She later retired from the Little Sisters of the Poor Nursing Home as a head chef. Sadie lived a beautiful life where she dedicated her time to helping others in need. When you met Sadie, you met a friend. If you were hungry, she fed you. She had a deep love for the Lord and prayed daily. She adored her Family and will be greatly missed by all those whose lives she touched. She is survived by her children: Whitney C. Friloux (Catina) Elouise Friloux, Edward C. Patterson, David O. Patterson (Leticha), Shameca A. Turner (Ivy), Orial V. Patterson, Quonika M. Willis (Michael), and Delphia K. Kennedy, her sisters and brother: Arlene Jones, Reaper M. Jones, Jerome Jones, Rose L. Well (Tony), as well as a host of Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews, relatives and friends. The Family wishes to give special thanks to Sadie’s granddaughter, Keachell Friloux, who loved and cared for her during her final days. Visitation will be held from 9:00-10:00 am on July 19, 2021 at Mount Olive Baptist Church, 1701 Estalote Ave, Harvey, LA 70058. The Funeral service will be held from 10:00-11:00 am at the same location. Directly after the funeral service, Sadie will be laid to rest at Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, 34888 Dr. Slidell, LA 70460 with her beloved husband.
