Robert Caldwell

Robert Caldwell was born August 4, 1941 in New Orleans, Louisiana to James and Amie Caldwell. He was the 6th child and the eldest son of 15 children. On February 25, 2022 at 3:00am at the age of 80, God’s quiet still voice called him home. Robert was educated in the New Orleans Public School System where he graduated from George Washington Carver High School in 1961. During his adult years, he worked as a custodian at Resurrection Catholic School and also, a supervisor at Parkway Commission for the City of New Orleans. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, James and Amie Caldwell, sisters; Annie Watson, Ola Jacobs, and Sadie Robinson, and brother; John H. Caldwell. Robert leaves to cherish his memory, five sisters; Catherine Smith of Birmingham, Alabama, Mary (David) Porter, Annie Pearl, Kathy, and Emma Caldwell; four brothers; James, Charles (Bobbie), Kenneth, and William (Kim) Caldwell. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and devoted friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Celebration of Life Service on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at 10:00am at D. W. Rhodes Funeral Home, 3933 Washington Avenue, New Orleans, Louisiana 70125. The Visitation will begin at 9:00am. Rev. Jerry Darby, Officiating.
