Ramon "Ray" Julian Llorens

April 25, 2022

Ramon “Ray” Julian Llorens, son of Manuel and Beverly Llorens, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 25, 2022, surrounded by family. Born in Alexandria, LA, Ray was raised in New Orleans where he attended St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Elementary School and Brother Martin High School. After one year at Louisiana State University, Ray returned to New Orleans to receive his bachelor’s degree in marketing from Xavier University in 1986. Throughout his career, he worked in sales, spending the last 15 years with ADT Security Services where he received numerous awards, both locally and nationally, for outstanding service to the company. Ray loved sports from a young age and excelled in baseball and basketball, even picking up tennis in college. He attended many Saints games with his family and friends and watched countless more in the comfort of his parents’ home with his father at his side. Most of all, Ray loved his late wife, Nicole Candiff Llorens. Together, they built a beautiful partnership and home. Ray will be remembered for his kind, gentle soul, his ability to light up any room, his uncanny knowledge of geography and pop culture, and his knack for making us laugh through thick and thin. Ray leaves his brother Manuel Llorens II, sister Sophia Morris, and nieces Sydney Morris and Samantha Morris to cherish his memory. He also valued the support of Kay Nelson, Jackson Nelson, and Abigail Nelson. He was preceded in death by his brother Richard Llorens and grandparents Manuel Llorens, Hilda Llorens, Louis Demasiliere, and Cecile Demasiliere. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at St. Raymond and St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, 2916 Paris Ave., on Monday, May 2, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. Visitation will begin at 9:00 A.M. Interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery; Everyone in attendance is required to wear a face mask. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Tulane Cancer Center for their excellent care. In lieu of flowers, please consider lending your support to continued prostate cancer research at www.prostatecancerresearch.org. Arrangements by D.W. Rhodes Funeral Home, 3933 Washington Avenue. Please visit www.rhodesfuneral.com to sign the guestbook.
