Percy Pruitt Sr.

Mr. Percy Pruitt, Sr. passed away peacefully on Friday, December 4, 2020 at the age of 98. He was born on November 3, 1922 in Taft, Louisiana. He was a lifelong resident of New Orleans (Algiers). Percy was educated in the New Orleans public school system and later served in the United States Army, World War II Veteran. Percy was a devoted member of Mount Olive Baptist Church of Algiers under the leadership of Pastor Nathaniel Jimcoily. Percy was the son of the late Albert Daresnsburg and Selina Williams. He was married to the late Blondie Pruitt. Loving father of the late Percy Pruitt, Jr. He is survived byhis siblings, Lavern Stack (the late Wilson), Alvin Collins (Rosa), Gardy Collins (Mary), and the late Rogers Ricard, Ervin Collins and Melvin Williams. Special uncle to the late Armond Stack and long term friend of the late Cherleen Trosclair. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews, cousins other relatives and friends. Special thanks to Ms. Jetta ‘Peaches’ Jones (care taker). Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Funeral Service at Mount Olive Baptist Church, 1124 LeBeouf Street on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at 12:30 pm. Visitation will begin at 11:30 am. As mandated by the State of Louisiana due to the COVID-19 pandemic, attendance is limited. Everyone is required to adhere to all restrictions.
