Marlon Christopher Wiltz Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Marlon Christopher Wiltz passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday, July 18, 2022. He was born on April 4, 1983 to Jennifer Wiltz Matthews and Clarence Sterling Sr. in New Orleans, Louisiana. He attended William C. Claiborne Elementary, Thurgood Marshall Middle and was in the 2001 graduating class of Sarah T. Reed Senior High School. With a strong love for learning, Marlon continued to educate himself by earning several certifications and degrees from various institutions. Marlon successfully earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Southern Mississippi in May of 2022. In December of 2006 he fulfilled the requirements to earn an Associate of Applied Sciences degree in Construction Technology and Architectural/Design Construction Technology from Delgado Community College. Marlon yearned to strengthen his knowledge in the Architectural field so he returned and ultimately earned certificates from Delgado in both Craft-Technology Competency and Fundamentals of Carpentry: Level One in December of 2015. Marlon also enrolled in a few courses at Tulane University for a while. He was a lifelong and active parishioner of St. Maria Goretti Church in New Orleans East. Marlon’s life in faith began in the waters of Baptism and the sacraments of Holy Communion and Confirmation forged a stronger bond for his faith. He was wholeheartedly committed to living his life as a good Christian and devoted God-fearing man. Marlon worked in the Construction and Architecture field in many capacities. He was a member of the local Carpenters Union in New Orleans, and recently joined Rotolo Construction (RCI) where he was excited to lend his talents as a Contract Coordinator with the construction firm. Marlon has always been surrounded and supported by his loving family and was preceded in death by his grandparents, William Peter Wiltz Sr. and Blanche Honore Wiltz; his aunts Betty Lassai and Mary Belle Byrd; and his uncle William “Billy” Wiltz. Marlon leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted mother Jennifer Wiltz Matthews and her life partner Alfred Cavalier; his faithful sister Michelle; his cherished niece Korynn; his loving nephew Joshua; his dedicated and steadfast cousins Alvin Jr., Charles Jr., Derron, Elliott Jr., and Perry Sr.; and a host of other remarkable family members and friends. Relatives, family and friends, employees of Rotolo Construction, Pastors, Officers and members of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, and employees of Dillard University are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 7300 Crowder Blvd New Orleans, LA 70127 on July 27, 2022 at 11:00 am.
