Louis Marcell Gilbert

Louis Marcell Gilbert was born April 9, 1974 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Brinda Lumpkin Gilbert. Shortly after birth, they moved to Los Angeles, California where he thrived under the care of Frank and Linda Alexander. Marcell often spoke of the years he spent growing up in LA. along with Rothell and Tatiana and how much he enjoyed living with his family on the West Coast. There he developed a love for Star Wars, action figures, and Hot Wheels. Marcell loved the San Fransico 49ers. One of his favorite teenage memories was receiving the complete 49ers Starter outfit. Upon moving back to New Orleans he found the maternal guidance of his mother Brinda, his Aunt Doris, and his grandmother Allah Mae Lumpkin. He attended T. H. Bell Jr. High and John McDonald Senior High School in New Orleans, La. It was in New Orleans on Bienville Street where he found his chosen family, the Bien Boys. These friendships quickly became life long bonds and remained critical throughout his life. Marcell loved his watch collection, shoes and clothes, and he enjoyed eating out. Lately he discovered a love for photography and RC cars. He spent the last three years of his life in Dallas, Texas where he lived and thrived, forming strong bonds with his family. It was in Texas where Marcell begin to explore and learn of many great things life can offer. He will be truly missed beyond words. Preceding him in death we remember his paternal figure Frank Alexander Jr., his grandfather Green Lumpkin, Jr., his uncle Kenneth Wayne Lumpkin, and his Nephew, Jonathan Louis Williams Jr.. He is survived by seven wonderful children; Lejeuena , Jarell Sr. Louis Marcell Jr., Marquis Sr., Markayla, Markia, and King; 10 grandchildren; Wysh, Wayne, Jarell Jr., Joules, Keelan, Ja’Kiyan, Kylie, Marquis Jr., Mason, and Kim. He is also survived by his mother Brinda; his Aunts Linda Alexander and Doris Antoine; his siblings; Danyell Gilbert Patterson (Tomie), Alegra Lumpkin Roy (Russell Jr.), Rothell Mathis (Franchesca), and Tatiana Alexander; his fiancee, Patricia Dalcour; and his Bienville Family.
