Leo Jackson, 63 years old, a lifelong resident of New Orleans, La entered into eternal rest at Our Lady Of The Lake Regional Medical Hospital Center on Sunday, January 23, 2022. He was born July 28, 1958, in New Orleans, La to Leland and Geraldine Mason Jackson. Leo graduated from G.W.Carver Sr. High School, class of 1976. After high school he pursued a career at Alois J. Binder's Bakery for a period of time. Leo's passion was in the hospitality industry where he enjoyed working and dedicated his life to serving others. He was employed at New Orleans City Entergy Club from 1998-2005. He carried their motto, "Warm Welcome; Magic Moment; Fine Farewell," as his own throughout his professional career. Due to Leo's dedication, hard work and ethics it gave him an opportunity to serve as a caregiver to the Honorable Federal Judge Charles Schwartz until his death in 2012. Leo had developed a strong bond with the Schwartz's family ( Priscilla and Claiborne Baird) until his untimely death. Leo was the life of the party and will be remembered for his friendly engaging personality, infectious smile,laughter and his friendly nature. He truly will be missed. Leo is preceded in death by his Mother Geraldine Jackson; Grandfathers, Wesley Mason and Ray Jackson; Grandmothers, Doneal Mason and Hester Jackson. He leaves to cherish his precious memory, his father, Leland Jackson of New Orleans, La; his loving daughter, Jakisha Chantell (Samuel Ranjit); grandaughter, Kaylan Ayanna; two grandsons, Samuel Javaughn and Jordan Ranjit Hayes, of Bryan, Tx. Three brothers his twin Leon, (Selbra); and Aaron (Patricia) Jackson of New Orleans, La; Kevin Jackson of Inglewood, California as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. We the family of Leo Jackson wish to acknowledge with deep appreciation the many expression of love, kindness, and support shown to us during our time of bereavement. We would like to acknowledge and give special thanks to, Mrs. Henrietta Manuel for her dedicated care, guidance, patience and motherly love that she gave to Leo, who he affectionately called " LuLu". Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Funeral Service at D.W. Rhodes Funeral Home, 3933 Washington Avenue on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 1:00 pm. Visitation will begin at 12:00 pm. Attendance is limited and everyone is required to adhere to all restrictions. You must wear a face mask at all times and practice social distancing.
