Katherine Tripps

Katherine Louise Tripps passed away peacefully on Monday, January 24, 2022, at the age of 83. She is proceeded in death by her husband Robert Tripps Sr. Her parents Albert & Carrie Vincent and her stepmother Josephine Brumfield. One grandson Tarrell Williams, two brothers Isadore Vincent and Willie Brown, and one sister Doris Vincent Lee. Katherine leaves to mourn two sisters Thelma & Alice Vincent. Her six kids Andrea, Robert Jr., Edwin, Pamela, Albert Sr., Lance, and a grandchild she raised as her own Lakesha Williams. 21 grandkids, 40 great-grandkids, and 3 great great-grandkids. Three daughters-in-law Stella, Velvet, and Sandre, and a host of nieces and nephews. She was educated in the Orleans Parish School system and attended Booker T. Washington High School. She was a long-time faithful member of Historic Second Baptist Church under the late Rev. Thomas Nelson Washington until 1990. She then began fellowship with Grace Communion Fellowship under Pastor Michael Horchak until her death. She worked with the Orleans Sheriff Department in the early ’90s as an intake clerk, she also was a member of Headstart policy council between 1995-1997. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at D.W. Rhodes Funeral Home, 3933 Washington Avenue on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 1:00 pm. Visitation will begin at 12:00 pm. Attendance is limited and everyone is required to adhere to all restrictions. You must wear a face mask at all times and practice social distancing.
