Jacqueline Asberry Creecy

From labor to reward, Jacqueline Asberry Creecy heeded the Master's call on Saturday, Feb. 19, 2022 in New Orleans, transitioning unto eternal life with our Lord. She was the devoted wife of the late Melvin Joseph Creecy and the enamored mother of Devin J. and Raynard A. Creecy. Jackie was a fervent admirer of her beloved siblings, Gloria Anderson and Christine Campbell (Rev. A. Ray Campbell); her sisters-in-law, Hazel Wade and Gloria Creecy Larche (Charles); her brother-in-law, Wendell Creecy (Earline); her nieces, Dannica Campbell, Arva Gathers (Kenneth), Ericka Brown (Solomon), Charlene Larche-Mason (Ronald), and Renate Thompson; nephews, Leon Anderson (Claudia) and Carter L. Mason; cousins and extended family and friends. Jackie was a native of Baton Rouge, LA and a resident of New Orleans, LA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin J. Creecy; her parents, Percy Asberry and Beatrice Wade; and brother, James (Lionel) Wade. Pastors, Officers and members of Franklin Avenue Baptist Church of New Orleans, Hill of Zion Baptist Church, Metairie, La. and Greater St. Stephens Baptist Church of New Orleans, as well as surrounding churches throughout the metro area; members of United Teachers of New Orleans, faculty and staff of John McDonough High School, Live Oak Elementary School, Thurgood Marshall Middle School, Joseph S. Clark High School, United Parcel Service, OCAW Oil Chemical Atomic Worker and United Steel Workers USW Local 13-447; Employees of Cornerstone (formerly Cytec Industries) and Magnolia Community Services; members of Southern Christian Leadership Conference; residents of Kingswood Subdivision; members of Voting Rights Museum; United Parcel Local 270 Teamster are invited to attend the funeral. A Christian burial service honoring the life of Jacqueline Asberry Creecy will be held at Franklin Avenue Baptist Church, 8282 I-10 Service Road, New Orleans, La. on Saturday, March 5, 2022, at 10 a.m. The Rev.
