Ingrid Monique Collins

Ingrid Monique Collins answered the call and returned home on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at 2:52 pm, finally at peace where she reunited with her Mother, sisters, and many other relatives and friends. She was 53 years old. She was born, raised, and lived her life in Marrero, La. A Graduate of John Ehret High School, Class of 1987, and Gretna Career College Class of 2002 where she became a Certified Medical Assistant. She worked as a Medical Assistant for over 13 years before she became a Nursing Instructor at Gretna Career College and Delgado Community College and Receptionist at the Workforce. Before that, she worked for the Marriott Hotel for 7 years where she was the Banquet Manager. An active member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, member of the Gospel Choir, and the Helping Hands Ministry. She is proceeded in death by her Mother Helen “Betty” Wheeler Collins, sisters Della R. Watson, Sherise C. Lawson and Therlyn C. McNair, and Miriam J. Eskridge, and her Godmother Gail “Susie” F. Brown. She leaves to cherish her memory, her children Alecia D., Helen S., Avierre H. Bloodworth, and Lyric N. Steib. Her grandson Isaiah E. Bloodworth. Devoted nephews and niece Brandon (Hope) Collins Sr., Kenneth B. McNair, his companion Raisa Sylve and Christina (Chloe’) Ballins. Her companion, Terrence Steib, her Father Wilfred Johnson, 12 brothers, and 3 sister and a host of nieces, nephews and other realtives and friends. Relatives and friend of the family, also priest, parishioners, and administration of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, also employees of West Jefferson Medical Center, Marriot Hotel, Gretna Career College and Delgado Community College are invited to attend a Celebration of Life at St. Joseph the Worker, 455 Ames Blvd., Marrero, LA 70072 on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 11:00 am. Funeral services will be officiated by Fr. Sidney O. Speaks. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am following the recitation of the Rosary at 9:15 am, a Tribute and Musical Tribute at 9:45 am.
