Gladys Johnson was born May 30, 1926, in St Francisville, Louisiana to the late Lizzie Brooks Johnson and George Johnson, Sr., Gladys was one of 5 siblings: Viola Williams, Charles "Charlie" Johnson, George Johnson, Jr., and General "Gent" Johnson (who preceded her in death). Gladys Johnson Scott had 5 children and one grandchild which she raised as her own, Tomica Smith. Her children are Johnny Scott III (Janet), Michelle Brown (Kenneth), Jennifer Lee (Russell), Eric Scott, Sr. (Claudia), and Musette Jones. Gladys Johnson married Johnny Scott, Jr. on March 16, 1943. They lived as residents of New Orleans and moved to Westwego for the reminder of her life. She had 13 Grandchildren,45 great grandchildren and 18 great great-grandchildren. Her memory will live on through a host of family, and friends. She was a member of Historic Second Baptist Church in New Orleans, Louisiana where she served as the President of the Deaconess board. She lived a fulfilling life while here on earth, but on January 30, 2022, Gladys heard The Lord calling her name and she answered. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Funeral Service at Historic 2nd Baptist Church, 2505 Marengo Street on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 10:00 am.
