Gilmore W. "Butch" Alexander III, a retired Supervisor with BellSouth (AT&T), entered into eternal rest on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at the age of 75 years old. He was a veteran in the United States Marines and a graduate of St. Augustine High School Class of 1964. Mr. Alexander was the son of the late Gilmore W. Alexander Jr. and Marie W. Alexander. He was the loving husband of Cheryl S. Alexander, brother of Betty Williams and the late Myra Alexander. He survived by three nephews Lawrence and Terreaux Williams and Trent Matthews, four nieces LeighAnne and Leighr Alexander-Turner and Kim and Monique Allen. He is preceded in death by one niece Vanessa Alexander. He is also survived by a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament/St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 8321 Burthe St. New Orleans, LA 70118. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. Interment Mount Olivet Cemetery. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, all attendees are required wear face masks and adhere to social distancing.
