Geraldine Mary Parker Garnett entered into eternal rest on February 15, 2022 at the age of 87. She was born in New Orleans, LA on March 6, 1934. She was the daughter of the late Gilbert and Elvira Parker. Sister of the late Ronald Parker. Beloved wife of the late Harold Garnett Sr. Devoted loving mother of Theodosia Garnett and Angelita Garnett and of the late Harold Garnett Jr. Grandmother of Tanika Mukes and Manuel Mukes, Ricardo Paul, Jr. and Brittany Paul, Joshua Paul, Sr., Sheree Paul and Calvin Theodore. Great Grandmother of Tymaine Mukes, Manunika Mukes, Manu ion Mukes, Manunija Mukes, Joshua Paul Jr, Jamyrion Paul, Caleb Paul, Journey Paul, Ricardo Paul, III, Micah Paul and Azrael Paul. Great Great Grandmother of David Lynch Jr. Aunt of Gary Parker, cousin to Betty Henry and host of cousins, relatives and friends. Ms. Geraldine Garnett graduated from Xavier Prep University with honors. She was on the swim team and a cheerleader. She was offered a scholarship in music for her operatic voice. She was a loving, giving unselfish person who always had an encouraging word. Who taught her children to love, trust, praise and worship our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. A woman of God who loved the Lord and people. A true witness for Jesus telling people about Jesus. A true prayer warrior. People drew to her like a magnet, because of her big heart, and everyone called her "Granny". She would tell everyone she met, "Keep looking up cause the best is yet to come! She will be truly missed, but not forgotten, always will be in our hearts. Rest in God's Glory, your crown awaits you. Relatives and friends are invited to the Funeral Service at D. W. Rhodes Funeral Home, 3933 Washington Avenue, New Orleans, LA on Thursday March 3, 2022 at 10:00am. Visitation will begin at 9:00am. Interment: Holt Cemetery, 527 City Park Avenue, New Orleans, LA.
