George Edward Newell

George Edward Newell entered into eternal rest on Monday, July 17, 2017 at the age of 36. He passed away unexpectedly. He was a native and resident of New Orleans, LA. He leaves to cherish his memories his beloved wife, LaLannie Matthews Newell. He was the proud father of his beautiful newborn baby, Haven Melanie Newell and his adopted son, J’Kwon Matthews. He is the loving son of Claudell Riddle. He is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, George Edward McKinley(Paternal); his loving, nurturing and devoted father, Jerome Newell and his grandparents, Audrey Riddle and Robert Riddle, Sr., Frank and Ruby Newell and Joseph McKinley; great grandmother, Alice Monette Jarreau; two sisters, Ayanna Newell-Singleton and Kai Hall; two brother-in laws, James Singleton and Jason Matthews; a devoted and supportive mother-in-law, Nira Williams; father-in-law, Lonnie Williams; grandmother-in-law, Mrs. Kate Williams and lifelong friends, Ronald Christy, Jr., Silas Forte and Medgar Jenkins. Mr. Newell was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, a graduate of George Washington Carver and a Lance Corporal in the ROTC Program. He earned his Eagle Scout award in 1999 and a 2001 graduate of Southeastern College of Technology. He was employed by Huntleight USA, worked with Flight Operation at the New Orleans International Airport and also worked at Loving Hearts Respite. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church and Sunlight Baptist Church, also employees of Huntleight USA, New Orleans International Airport and Dream Team of Louisiana, also Alumni of George Washington Carver and Southeastern College of Technology, The National Eagle Scout Association, Loving Hearts Respite, S & W Board and Earthsavers are invited to attend a Celebration of Life at Mt.
