Geoffrey Ethan Alston Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Geoffrey Ethan Alston was born on December 20, 1960 to the late Edward Alston and Lolita Williams Alston in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was a graduate of John McDonogh High School and Southern University Baton Rouge where he graduated with a degree in Architecture. He owned a painting and remodeling business for over 20 years where he restored hundreds of houses all over the New Orleans area. He was also employed by the City of New Orleans in the Property Management Department as a Facility Engineering Specialist. Geoffrey was a lifelong member of Corpus Christi-Epiphany Catholic Church. He was an integral part of the parish and served in various capacities, including mass lector, leader of bible study classes, member of Ministers of Hospitality, Men in Christ, and Knights of Peter Clavier Council 60. He also assisted in renovation projects for the church. He is survived by his wife Deandra Alston and stepdaughter LaShae Williams. As well as dear friend Mettha Massey, siblings Patricia Alston Rochon (Noel) and Malcom Alston, and nieces and a nephew, Kristina Alston, Katherine Alston, Kayla Alston Stangl (Nicholas), Johanna Rochon Scott (Laquint), and Jason Rochon. He is preceded in death by parents Edward and Lolita Alston, siblings Frederick Alston (Dianne), Edward Alston (Fay). He lead his life with dedication to his church, community, and family. He always had a good joke and great sense of humor, an interesting historical fact, a love for fine cuisine/cooking eclectic dishes, and was knowledgeable of all the popular restaurants and bakeries across the city. A celebration of his life will occur on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at Corpus Christi-Epiphany Catholic Church at 2022 St. Bernard Ave. New Orleans, LA 70116. Visitation will occur at 10:00 am and will be followed by Mass at 11:00 am. Mass will be lead by Very Rev. Father Henry Davis, SSJ.
