On Sunday December 5, 2021 an angel was dispatched to her home with instruction to release Dolores of her pain and suffering. She hastily, yet humbly answered the Master’s call as her soul winged its flight from this world of sin, sorrow and pain unto that eternal mansion that God has prepared for his children. Dolores Ruth was born July 13, 1938 in St. Francisville, Louisiana to the union of Alex Ruth Sr and Martha Barrow-Ruth. She was a devoted mother of seven children. Her love for her family was immeasurable. She was a great provider and a natural nurturer. She was a very welcoming person, always had an open door, a helping hand and a hot plate of food to offer. After graduating from Walter L Cohen Senior High School she made a career in retail sales. After retirement, she devoted her time to being an active and loving grandmother. She leaves to mourn her earthly separation six children; Romallice, Adonirum Sr, Keith, Towanda, Ronna and Kirsten , 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 1 great, great grandchild, one sister; Cloteen Butler, a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Dolores was preceded in death by her father; Alex Ruth Sr , her mother; Martha Ruth, her daughter; Sabrina Ruth, her son; Kelvin Etheridge, her brothers; Alex Ruth Jr, Earl Ruth, Zarzard Ruth, Wilbert Ruth, her sisters; Inez Johnson, Lilian Harris and her companion Johnny Jackson Jr. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at D.W. Rhodes Funeral Home, 3933 Washington Avenue on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at 1:00 pm. Visitation will begin at 12:00 pm. Everyone in attendance must wear a mask. Interment: Providence Park Cemetery.
