Dianne "Dee" Jordan

Dianne “Dee” Jordan, surrounded by her family on Monday, January 10, 2022, peacefully transitioned from this earthly realm to the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ. Daughter of the late Ulus and Joann Edwards, she accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Mt Redeemer Baptist Church by late Reverend Eddie Branch. She attended Booker T. Washington High School and was employed by Hotel Monteleone for 43 years, and the first president of the Junior Buckjumpers. Loving mother of Jeannie Jordan and J’mar Wesley; instrumental in the nurturing of her nieces, Joann, Calvinisha, Markel, and her heartbeat, Katilyn Edwards whom she raised as her own; grandmother of Larry Brown, J’mar Wesley Williams, Cornelius Clay and the late Gary Jordan; sister of Lottie Irving-Nelson, Vera Edwards, Pat Burrell, Darryl and Markee Edwards; Antoine and Donald Ray of Houston, TX; and the late Jackie Edwards; Lifelong friends: Diane Edwards (sister-in-law), Catherine Jones and Burdette Carter; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and co-workers. Relatives and friends of the family, pastors, officers and members of Mt. Redeemer, Fifth African and St. Matthew Baptist Churches, employees of Monteleone Hotel and Blue Cross Blue Shield; members of the Buckjumpers Traveling Club, Men and Lady Buckjumpers, YMO and all other S&P clubs; Hot 8 Brass Band and all other brass bands are invited to attend Dianne’s Homegoing Celebration on Saturday, January 22, 2022, at St. Matthew Baptist Church, 1626 So. Rampart. New Orleans, LA 70113, 10:00 am; visitation at 9:00 am, officiating minister, Rev. Chante Sutton; Interment, Providence Memorial Park.
