De'Rone Louis Porter Sr

De’Rone Louis Porter Sr, entered eternal rest on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at Hood Memorial Hospital, in Amite, LA. He was born on September 21, 1986, to the union of the late Melvin Porter Sr, and Deatrice Garrison Seymore. He graduated from Walter L. Cohen High School and Delgado Community College in New Orleans Louisiana. De’Rone or “Dizzie” as he was called, was a dedicated band member and played the trumpet for many years in middle and highschool. He was a member of Gospel Recording Artists “The Rams” and a New Orleans Bounce Music Producer. He leaves to forever cherish his memories his devoted wife Melanie Teague Porter, two sons: De’Rone Porter Jr. and Kash Levron, two daughters: Honesti’ and Kaydence Porter, his mother: Apostle Deatrice Garrison Seymore, his stepfather Norman Seymore Jr., mother in law Ola Teague and father in law Herbert Teague, four brothers Melvin Porter Jr., Donovan (Trene) Porter Sr., Tyrell Snowton, and Rashad Jackson, two sisters: Melle Porter and Laoshia Woodberry, one stepsister Alexis Davis, his grandmother Emma Garrison Clayton, 7 aunts: Sheri Williams, Carolyn Dorsey, Cheryl Jackson, Vanessa Brumfield, Donica Bruce, Gwendolyn Norwood, & Trenice Herbert, 4 uncles: Dennis Williams, Handsom Allen, Anthony Recasner & Dennis Recasner. 8 nephews, 6 nieces, his Godfather Donald Cola, his Godmother Alice Garrison, A devoted friend James Owens, & A host of great aunts, great uncles, cousins, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by: His father Melvin Porter Sr, maternal grandfather: James Anthony Bell, paternal grandparents: Mary Williams, Denson Williams, great grandparents: Edward and Melvina Garrison, & Mary and Calvin Porter, uncles: Louis Garrison, Douglas Williams, Michael Recasner and Derrick Recasner. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at D.W. Rhodes Funeral Home, 3933 Washington Avenue on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 1:00 pm. Visitation will begin at 12:00 pm. Attendance is limited and everyone is required to adhere to all restrictions. You must wear a face mask at all times and practice social distancing.
