David Eugene Foster Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

David Eugene Foster was born on January 3, 1963, the youngest of 6 siblings to the late Robert Amos and Ruby Mae Foster. David married Persephonie Deidra Lewis Foster and to this union of 32 years, 3 children were born: Raven, Jade and David. After a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer, David was called home on July 29, 2022. David not only had talent in many areas but incredible passion. He was extremely musically inclined having played the tuba at his beloved alma mater, George Washington Carver High School in New Orleans, Louisiana and also while in the Southern University and A&M College Marching Band in Baton Rouge, Louisiana where he became a member of Kappa Kappa Psi National Honorary Band Fraternity. Around this time he lovingly became known as “Buck Sauce”. In his later life, David became a successful electrician licensed by the state of Louisiana and also a proud member of the legendary Zulu Social Aid and Pleasure Club in New Orleans, Louisiana. David loved to travel, read the Bible, bike ride, and be a dedicated and loyal sports fan, most notably to the New Orleans Saints and Pelicans. He was always a devoted and active family man and prioritized his family above everything else in his life. He made sure that all the people he loved knew that they could rely on him to encourage them to be their best selves, be there when they needed him, have good times and make unforgettable memories. He was a positive influence on many lives and will be greatly missed. His legacy will live on through those that love him. David accepted Christ as his lord and savior at a young age. He is survived by his wife: Persephonie Lewis Foster; Children: Raven (Eric) Brooks, Jade and David D. Foster; Grandchildren: Khai, Nile; Mother in Law: Diane Lewis; Siblings: Robert Foster, Freddie (Sharlene) Foster, Dyerl Ann (Roy) Bridges, Kevin (Deborah)Foster; Brother in Laws: Alvin Jr. (Janet) Lewis, Donrell (Leta) Lewis; Godchildren: LaKeisha Price, Jarius and Patience; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, other extended family, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Robert and Ruby Foster, father in law: Alvin Lewis Sr., and sister: Glenda Mae Foster- Oney. Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life at D. W. Rhodes Funeral Home, 3933 Washington Ave, New Orleans, LA, 70125, on Friday, August 5, 2022 at 10:00 am.
