Yvonne G. Miles

Yvonne Goodo Miles was born on April 14, 1926, in New Orleans, Louisiana to Aline Goodo and Henry Goodo Sr. While she was known as Ms. Yvonne to many, she was affectionately known as Mama and Momo/Maw Maw/Momo Red to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Yvonne love the church, gardening, spending time with family, listening to music, watching soap operas, and most of all cooking. She loved preparing meals and spent decades as a cook at Our Lady of Guadalupe International Shrine of St. Jude Catholic Church in the community center and eventually at the rectory before retiring. On September 22, 2022, at the age of 96, Yvonne entered peacefully into eternal rest. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Sr. and Aline; siblings, Geraldine Howard, Salome Jolly, Henry Goodo Jr, Ruby Touchard, and Patricia Goodo, the love of her life, her husband, Joseph Miles, Sr.; children, Arthur “Audie” Hills, Andrea Miles Lawhorn, Mark Miles Sr, and David Miles; and granddaughter, Adena Lawhorn. She leaves to cherish her memories, her sister, Aline Heisser-Ovid, children; Marsha Miles, Robin Pierre, Joseph Miles Jr, Yvonne Aidoo (George Sr.), Nikki Cloud, and Tony Goodo Sr (Marvell); daughter-in-law, Doris Miles (late Mark Miles Sr.), grandchildren; Laisun Leon (Ymine), Audie G. Hills (Monica), Raymond Pierre Jr, Kalani Hills, Taisha Goodo, Tony Goodo, Jr, and George Aidoo Jr, great-grandchildren; Lyric Hills, Jazmyne Hodges, Nigel Pierre, Alyssa Pierre, Zoie Hodges, Jasmine Frank, Mason Segue, Lelani Leon, Jordan Ferdinand, Ryder May, Jaidyn Good, Jhene Ferdinand, and a host of nieces and nephews, relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady Guadalupe Church & International Shrine of St. Jude, 411 Rampart St, New Orleans, LA 70112, on Friday, September 30, 2022, at 10:00 AM.
