Virginia Landry Greenidge

Our beloved Virginia Landry Greenidge entered eternal rest with her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ on February 20, 2025. Virginia was the 2nd eldest daughter to James Harris and Jessie L. Moore in a family of nine children, five boys and four girls. Virginia was born on October 26, 1951, in Lake Providence, LA. Virginia confessed Jesus Christ and was water baptized as a youth by Rev. Carr of St. Mary’s Baptist Church in Lake Providence. Later in her adult years, Virginia recommitted her faith and trust in the Lord Jesus. Her last Church home was Calvary Baptist Church in Morristown, NJ under the leadership of Senior Pastor Jerry Matthew Carter, Jr. Virginia was educated in the New Orleans Public School System and received her High School Diploma from Joseph S. Clark Senior High. She obtained her Surgical Technician License at Charity School of Nursing in New Orleans. She furthered her medical education by obtaining a Bachelor of Science Degree from William Carey College. Over the span of her 40-year medical career, Virginia held positions as a Surgical Technician at Charity Hospital, Baptist Hospital and University Medical Center. She was last employed with the Cross-Country Healthcare Traveling Nurses Agency as a Cardiovascular Operating Room Technician serving in hospitals across the United States including in Poughkeepsie, NY, Bangor Maine, Dayton, OH, Toledo, OH, Atlanta, GA, DuBois, PA, Abilene, TX and Morristown, NJ. Virginia retired in 2012. She relocated back to New Orleans to enjoy the role of Grandmother. Virginia was a generous hearted family-focused person who enjoyed cooking and hosting family gatherings. She was a devoted Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, Cousin and Friend. She was a person who spoke her mind. You never had to guess what she was thinking or feeling. She enjoyed watching football and other sports. She really enjoyed watching Serena and Venus Williams play tennis. Her hobbies included needlepoint and Sudoku puzzles. Virginia loved and trusted God in all things. Her favorite book of the bible was Hebrews. One of her favorite songs was Alabaster Box by CeCe Winans. Preceding her transition from mortality to immortality are her parents, James Harris, and Jessie L. Moore. Three brothers Robert Moore, Johnny Moore, Troy Moore and one sister Lena Landry-Fairley. She leaves to cherish her memory Two children: Nicole Anesa Greenidge and Oliver Christopher (Ariane) Greenidge of New Orleans, LA. Four grandchildren: Amelia Madelynn, Eleanor Rose, Howard Maximo, and Isabelle Lillie Greenidge. Two sisters: Joyce Moore-Leggett, and Janice Moore of Las Vegas, NV Two brothers: Billie Moore of New Orleans, LA and James Landry of Orlando, FL As well as a host of nephews, nieces, great-nephews great-nieces, great-great nephews and great-great nieces, cousins, and friends near and far.
