Ursula Hebrard Crowden

Ursula Hebrard Crowden, affectionately referred to as “Weezie”, was born in New Orleans, La. on the 21st day of March 1937, to Stella and Lester Hebrard, Sr. She was baptized and confirmed at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in New Orleans, La. Ursula attended Holy Redeemer Catholic School where she learned about Christ at an early age and became a faithful Christian. She was a recipient of the prestigious St. Louis IX medallion for contributing her time, work and faith to the church and was subsequently honored by the Archdiocese of New Orleans at St. Louis Cathedral Catholic Church. She married her childhood sweetheart, Walter Arthur Crowden, Jr. on April 27, 1954. Ursula was a wonderful and devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, great aunt, mother in law and friend. She leaves to cherish her memory her seven children, Carliss Dumas (William), Elaine Ellis, Patricia Simmons (Richard), David Crowden (Donna) Gilbert Crowden (Donna), Lisa Hickman (Robert), Bernard Crowden, Sr., (Nicole) her fifteen (15) grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Her brothers, Warren Juluke, Jr. (Sheila), Leonard Juluke, Raymond Hebrard, Sr. (Jessie) sisters, Lois Sanders, JoAnn Juluke, Cynthia Keith and her God child, Dianne Williams. She had many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Stella Pierre Juluke, her father, Lester Hebrard, Sr., husband, Walter Arthur Crowden, Jr., brother, Lester Hebrard, Jr., stepfather, Warren Juluke, Sr., sisters, Cleo McKennie and Thelma Hebrard, Mother in law, Octavia Crowden, father in law Walter A. Crowden, Sr., sisters Elva Spencer, Gertrude Caliste, Theodora Jeanjacques and Emelda Evans. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Ursula’s life and Homegoing on Friday, July 10, 2026. Visitation will begin at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 2022 St. Bernard Avenue, New Orleans, La. 70116 at 8:00 a. m.
