Timothy Raymond Robinson Sr

Timothy Raymond Robinson, Sr. entered into eternal rest surrounded by his family at his home on January 31, 2019 at the age of 95. He was the devoted husband of 53 years of the late Lillian Baptiste Robinson; son of the late Clarence and Corrie Glynn Robinson; loving father of Elaine R. Robertson, Ivory R. Hamilton (Neal, Sr.), Timothy J. Robinson, Jr. of Conyers, GA, Clarence D. Robinson, Sr. (Cynthia), Barry G. Robinson, Sr., Berssetta R. May (Rickie), Lillian R. Millon (Jeffery, Sr.) of Lithonia, GA and John E. Robinson (Denise) of Humble, TX. Timothy was born on October 31, 1923 in Newberry, South Carolina and was the youngest of eleven children. He was educated in New Orleans Public School System and in 1941, he graduated from Gaudet Private School in Gentilly. Timothy was a devoted Christian and was a member of St. John Divine Missionary Baptist Church where he served on deacon and trustee boards. He was also the church custodian for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Corrie Robinson; siblings, Ruby, Corrie, John, Mary, Eunice, Helen, George, Priscilla, Margery and Dorothy; his wife, Lillian and one great grandson, Ryan Timothy Robinson, Jr. He leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Elaine, Ivory, Timothy, Clarence, Barry, Berssetta(Zett), Lillian and John; three sons-in-law, Neal, Sr., Rickie, Sr., and Jeffery, Sr.; two daughters-in-law, Cynthia and Denise; twenty grandchildren, forty-eight great grandchildren, 1 great-great granddaughter, one sister-in-law, Marie B. Baptiste, two God children and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, pastors, officers and members of St. John Divine Missionary Baptist Church, Greater Tulane Baptist Church, priest and parishioners of St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, also employees of Ochsner Medical Center, D & S Steering. Abbott Laboratories, XPO Logistics Freight and alumni of George Washington Carver Classes of 1966 & 1967, Joseph S. Clark of 1970, John McDonogh Classes of 1974, 1977 & 1984 are invited to attend the Funeral Service at St. John Divine M.B.C., 1763 N. Derbigny Street on Sunday, February 10, 2019 at 5:00 PM with Pastor Kenneth B. Speaks, Officiant. Visitation will begin at 4:00 PM; Dismissal Service on Monday, February 11, 2019 at 10:00 AM.
