Thomas Stewart III

Thomas Stewart III, affectionately known as “Freddie” or “Rodan” by those who loved and knew him, was born March 15, 1939 in New Orleans to the late Mrs. Bernice Faulkner and Mr. Thomas Stewart II. He departed this life on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at the age of 78. He was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School in New Orleans, LA, and was a long time truck driver for Georgia Pacific. Rodan Transportation Service was his namesake in which he transported school-aged kids, and families visiting their incarcerated loved ones in town and out-of-town. Mr. Stewart had a passion for cars, which was expressed by his craft of rebuilding and racing cars in his spare time. Mr. Thomas Stewart III leaves to mourn devoted companion of over 30 years, Marjorie Fine; his son, Titus Stewart of New Orleans, LA; one daughter, Michele Stewart residing in Katy, Texas. He also leaves 11 grandchildren: Titus Anderson, Alicia Gorman, Michael Stewart Jr., Robert Stewart, Beriah Stewart, Raynelle Gibbs, Brittany Johnson, Tamara Stewart, Tequila Stewart, Tiesha Stewart, Bernelle Williams, and Diamond Stewart; 5 great-grand children: Skye Robinson, Anyiah Gorman, Bernelle Williams Jr., Charlotte Anderson, and Brice Joseph. Stepfather of Gregory Hill, Alicia Connell and Albert Jackson. Mr. Thomas Stewart also leaves a best friend Mr. Raymond who resides in Texas; his beloved cousin, Albertine Arceneaux; one aunt Olga Gaines of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his son, Michael Stewart Sr.; daughter, Berniece Gail Stewart; grandson, Verdell Brown, aunt, Julia Mitchell, and cousin Elizabeth Burns. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Memorial Service at Evening Star Baptist Church, 8926 Hickory St. New Orleans, LA 70118 on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 10:00am.
