Stella Mae Richardson

Stella Mae Richardson was born on February 5, 1934, in New Orleans, LA to the late Auther and Virginia Olidge-Argeyo. Stella leaves to cherish precious memories, her daughter Carolyn Ann Banks and sons, Larry Richardson, Sr. and Walter Richardson, Jr.; daughters-in-law, Pamela and Eustacia Richardson; Latasha Richardson, her granddaughter she raised as her own, fourteen grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren; her sister, Virginia Morris; her godchildren, Marie Fisher, Barbara Ann Respert, Thomas Bacchus, and Leslie Moran; dedicated nieces Linda Williams and Evelyn Williams; and her best friend whom she cherished, Maxine Thornton. Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Stella accepted Christ at an early age. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Metairie, Louisiana under the leadership of her uncle the late Reverend William Olidge, where she sang in the choir. Later in life, she joined First Zion Baptist Church where she joined the choir, Women of Temperance, and a Sunday School member under the leadership of the late Reverend Samuel Lennox, then Reverend Thomas R. Nunnery until her health failed. Stella worked for Jefferson Parish School Board for 31 years as a custodian and 11 years as a bus attendant, and 14 years in housekeeping with Lakeside Hospital. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Walter Richardson, Sr., her daughter Frances Marie Reese, her son Alfred Richardson, Sr., grandson Larry Richardson, Jr., her mother and father, Arthur and Virginia Argeyo, 3 sisters Evelyn T. Pleasant, Angelina Fisher, and Lucille Pierre; her brothers Auther Argeyo, Edward Tombar, and Joseph Argeyo. Employees and staff of Jefferson Parish School Board are welcome to attend. A celebration service honoring the life and legacy of the late Stella Mae Richardson will be at First Zion Baptist Church, 1221 Causeway Blvd., Jefferson, LA., 70121 on January 28, 2023 at 11:00 AM. Reverend Thomas R. Nunnery will be officiating. Visitation starts at 10:00 AM.
