Stacey Lynn Hartford

Stacey Lynn Hartford lost her battle with pancreatic cancer on Monday, March 7, 2022, in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving son, Myles Reaux. She was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on March 6, 1969 to the late Alfred Hartford and Martha Thomas. Stacey is survived by her husband, Sam Richardson, her one and only child Myles Reaux; her siblings, Rosemary and Ernestine of San Francisco, California, Ernest Jr. of Stockton, California, Alfred Jr. of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Alfreda of New Orleans, Louisiana; a host of nieces and nephews; and friends and colleagues. Stacey was married first to Edward Reaux, and of that union Myles was born. She later married Sam Richardson. Stacey was a loving wife and dedicated mother. She was a passionate educator and loved working with children. She touched the lives of her students. She made sure that they were comfortable with her and were able to talk to her about anything. She graduated from Walter L. Cohen High School in 1987. She earned a Bachelors’ of Arts in English from Southern University at New Orleans and a Masters of Education from Our Lady of Holy Cross College. She taught school mainly in Orleans Parish Schools, Jefferson Parish as well as Dillard University in the Upward Bound Program Stacey was a loving wife, mother, sister, friend, colleague, and mentor. Stacey was baptized at an early age and has always been a strong believer in Christ. She was a member of Regular Baptist Church and lived a life of faith that always reflected in her actions. She treated those around her with selfless love. Her care for others always shined throughout no matter what. Her life was a blessing and her memories will live on in the hearts of all who cherished her. Let us be glad that her pain on this Earth has ended and that she is resting peacefully in the Lord. Relatives, friends and colleagues are invited to attend the Funeral Services at Regular Baptist Church located at 901 5th Street located in Gretna, LA on Friday, March 18, 2022 at 11:00 am with visitation beginning at 10:00 am until service time.
