Sharon Marie Honore'

Sharon Marie Honorè, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, June14, 2016 at Sanctuary at Passages Hospice facility at the age of 51. Sharon is the beloved daughter of Izelia Honorè and Ronald James Honorè, Sr (deceased). She is survived by her precious daughter, Kailey Michelle Honorè, four siblings, Anita Briant (Greg), Ronald James Honore, Jr. (Kristie), Tina Honorè LaFrance (Darrell), and Byron Curtis Honorè (Yolanda) and a host of relatives and friends. As a faithful Christian of the Church of Christ, Sharon continuously used her talents to help, encourage and visit fellow christians and friends. In spite of her metastatic breast cancer, she continued to bless others to the very end of her life’s journey. While still in high school at John McDonogh 35, Sharon began developing her culinary skills as a social hobby, entertaining friends and family, trying new recipes and exploring new ideas. While enrolled in the Culinary Arts program at Delgado, Sharon worked with her father at Crustaceans where she learned the restaurant operations side of foodservice. Shortly thereafter, she had a wonderful opportunity to work for Joel‘s Grand Cuisine Catering Service where she was exposed to a new level of food service, style, off site events and a high end catering culture. Events by Honorè laid the foundation for her strong business acumen where her consistency in food and services created the culture and vision she was seeking. After Hurricane Katrina, Sharon sought to restructure the services she provided by specializing in tasty heart healthy food options. The Wooden Spoon began providing daily dinner deliveries and catering services. Self-employment provided Sharon with the opportunity of meeting wonderfully amazing people that have grown into wonderfully amazing lifelong friendships. Sharon will always be remembered for her classy style, generous hospitality, and her smile. A visitation with family and Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at DW Rhodes Funeral Home, 3933 Washington Avenue, New Orleans, LA. Visitation with family from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., Memorial Service will immediately follow.
